The title sounds fancy doesn't it?  I can't take credit for it I'm afraid. I’m actually doing something a little different for FreeRead today. I’m writing about a free read of a different kind.

The Radisson Edwardian Hotels are doing what I think is a great idea. As far as I know there is only one hotel currently participating in the scheme – Blommsbury Street Hotel in London. They choose a book for the month and then leave one for every guest to read and take with them for the entire month which is exposure to thousands of guests. This is great for loads of reasons.

How good would it be to check into a hotel while visiting on a business trip for example and you feel like relaxing and find a book by the bed? I would love it. I would appreciate being introduced to a book and author I may not have heard of. To be introduced to something I may not have otherwise picked up. A genre I may not have otherwise tried and I get to take it with me. If there was a book on offer, I would read it regardless of the genre.

The other great thing. The exposure, especially for a new writer. Thousands of people that wouldn’t otherwise have known about a book or writer and they are presented with a courtesy copy. Being chosen would be very prestigious and quite frankly a little awesome.

So hopefully one day I can check into one of these great hotels and find a book with a familiar name on the cover. Seeing a Night book on the Nightstand... even better.
