Well I’m in rewriting hell.  Though it isn’t really hell.  I’ve noticed lately a few of my writer friends are attempting it too.  Must be the season for it.  Perhaps my fellow writers are in the same place as me.  Have learnt a lot since writing their first drafts.  This is encouraging.  It is nice to know I am not alone in thinking... wow this first draft is really crappy and needs work.

Motivation is going to be the tough thing.  How do others stay motivated rewriting?  I know I will probably finish it but it could take a while.  One of my WIP’s will call out to me and I will return to that.  This happens when I’m not rewriting thus why I have four WIPs.  Am I alone here too?  Probably not.  The muse strikes us all in different ways but I have no doubt that other writers have a certain plot, character or other such thing calling to them to work on them.

So perhaps we should band together.  All of us doing the rewrite should get a buddy or two and when motivation flags... then we call on our buddy for support.  If you are rewriting and like me think you may need a kick up the rear occasionally then let me know and I would be grateful for a buddy.

It seems I unclogged my block by doing a blog.  Don’t say that too quickly.  Or maybe I shouldn't I speak too soon.  Yes I was flowing yesterday but today... well we shall see.  So now what?

Well I guess I should shout out for Words to Music.  40 writers from 12 countries.  I remember when Michael Wells first asked me if I wanted to participate.  Firstly I was flattered then I got my song Mystify by INXS and I was full steam ahead.

Finally I hold the finished product in my hot little hands and I’m excited.  I have plunged in and started to read stories from the beginning – didn’t get too far as I’m still reading Belfast Girls for a review coming soon – and I am loving them all over again.  Some I hadn’t actually read either so it is all new in some ways too.

So many talented authors writing for a cause as all proceeds are going to charity.  So if you want to read something totally different then please buy your copy today!  (It seems I can be a little pushy... I didn’t think I had it in me!)

The link to Amazon is on my homepage.

Other interesting links:  Noelle Pierce - one of the writers - is interviewing some of the participants on her blog which can be found here.

See you again, same bat time, same bat channel (if I can think of anything to blabber on about that is!)
