Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Here is my teaser: The Iron Admiral: Conspiracy by Greta van der Rol

She stared at him. Dark skin, black hair, eyes like black holes. When he was like this she couldn‘t even begin to read him. What did she know about this man, after all? He could be an assassin, a murderer. He was certainly an agent of some sort; he‘d said so. Except when he made love he was different. Then he was gentle, passionate and not very good at it; although he was very willing to learn. Warmth rose to her face at the memory. What words could she use? A contradiction, an enigma?

Tomorrow I review How to meet a guy at the Supermarket

The Iron Admiral: Conspiracy

First I’m going to start by saying that I don’t usually get into Sci-Fi, I don’t hate it but it isn’t my first choice but when Greta asked for reviews I jumped at the chance. I enjoyed Greta’s short in our Words to Music anthology and I’d read some of Die a Dry Death on authonomy so I was excited about reading The Iron Admiral. The fact there is romance and a hunky leading man didn’t influence my decision at all... yeah right. J

The Iron Admiral is a wonderfully descriptive, action packed, love filled tale. Greta has taken me to different worlds with great characters and fantastic imagination. Even the unusual names which would usually put me off weren’t an issue here. This is a well written excellent story and I have to admit I’m wanting more Sci-Fi now!

The flight scene in Chapter Fifteen was like a movie in my head, in fact the whole story is like this. Greta paints such a vivid picture which captivates the mind and will keep you absorbed. I have picked this action scene as my one of my favourites but this exciting story doesn’t leave you wanting more... except of course more from Allysha and Saahren. I am very happy to know there is a planned sequel.

I haven't given The Iron Admiral a shower curtain sizzle rating – not because it doesn’t have any because it does – but because I don’t want to give the wrong impression about this story. Yes it sizzles but in lots of different ways.
